LOAR GANN
Music to dance from Brittany
Originaly created by four young and talented musician women from the Trégor area in Brittany, the group LOAR GANN, meaning "Full Moon" in Breton, is currently composed of five musicians who are all enjoying a strong experience of stage playing and of the traditional dance-bands known as "Fest-Noz" in Brittany.
Having established a good reputation for itself in the "Fest-Noz" of the Trégor and other Breton areas, LOAR GANN has a talent for irresistibly getting people to dance to the rythm of its polkas and "gavottes" tunes, all characterized by the group's typical "Sound of Trégor".
LOAR GANN finds this sound and this tonicity by drawing its repertoire at the source of tradition, but also in playing recent compositions which are respectful of their specific origins.
A CD is in preparation. To while away in the meantime, you may listen to a few exclusive musical extracts of the group, recorded live at the festival "Tréguier en Fête" in August 2001.
The extracts which we propose you to download are RealAudio files which require the player of the same name. If you don't possess it you will be able to download a free version on the site of RealAudio.
